From 22 April, the porcelain and faience collection features in a new exhibition. The displays offer an overview of Swiss porcelain and faience manufacture in the 18th century, the development of the form and décor of tableware, and international exchange.

The main focus of the exhibition is on the products of the porcelain factory founded by citizens of Zurich in Kilchberg-Schooren (1763-1790). The various stages in the production processes at this company are examined in chronological order. The development of the decorations and working of the figures reveals how tastes have changed over the years. The figures are grouped thematically into areas such as allegories, the exotic, the seasons, elements, continents, love, hunting and wine. They seem to fill the elegant baroque rooms of the Guilde house «Zur Meisen» Zurich and offer us a graphic insight into the 18th century – a period whose delight in representation is most clearly embodied in the famous Einsiedeln service.
