Today, museums rarely mount a travelling exhibition featuring objects exclusively from their own collection, while institutions are also increasingly joining forces to do their collecting. For this reason, more and more objects are passed back and forth among museums. Objects are lent only to museums.

Lending is responsible for all loans made and received by the entire museum group. It conducts internal and external assessments of every loan and organises the internal and external object-lending process. Applications for loans are to be submitted to the Registrar.
