The library of the National Museum Zurich is both a tool for the use of museum staff and a publicly accessible library specialising in archaeology, art and cultural history, Swiss history, museum studies, restoration and conservation.
Current holdings comprise some 60,000 individual volumes as well as approximately 800 periodical titles, and the library is continuously adding such new media as CDs and videos. A further focus of the collection is exhibition and auction catalogues.
Acquisitions made since 1994 can be searched via internet on the NEBIS catalogue network (www.nebis.ch), while items acquired earlier can be found in the card catalogue of the Zurich Central Library, or read online in scanned form (http://zbzazk.eurospider.com/ digital_library, see under L). The journals are listed only partially on the NEBIS online catalogue, while complete periodicals holdings can be viewed in the Central Library’s card catalogue at its main location.
Interlending possible: please contact your local library (see under Zü122)
