PIRATE SILK. Archive Abraham Zurich focuses on the textile company Abraham AG (Zurich), whose archive was donated to the Swiss National Museum in the summer of 2007. The immense wealth of the archive – in both quantitative and qualitative terms – sheds light on various aspects of the textile and fashion world of the second half of the 20th century. The charismatic personality of Gustav Zumsteg, thousands of fabric designs, hundreds of pattern books, a large number of fashion photographs, a printing table and a glimpse into the future of the Abraham archive should be more than enough to entice visitors into the fascinating world of high-quality craftwork, artistic innovation and glamour.
